My proposal aims to create a light, flexible and powerful market structure that speaks about the cultural identity of both sites and bring them together. Both markets, at Abbesses and Chateau Rouge, extend under a common canopy made by individual and colorful elements. This system allows both markets to adapt to different site conditions and geometries. This creates a weather protection for the market to moved and organize freely underneath. By merging the essence of art nouveau from Abbesses and Montmartre and the colorful African culture presence in Chateau Rouge my proposal extends over both sites as a large field of flowers that host both markets underneath. By using a variation of the same construction system used at the market, I combined with other urban elements such as outdoor projections, reading areas and outdoor public expositions to enhance the public space and bring more people together and enjoy the city.
